Less Is More…More or Less.

Let your yes be yes and your no, no. My attempt to say more while not.

Wasted Time = Wasted Life

“Every minute you engage in an activity you abhor reduces your life expectancy by an equal amount of time.”

– Steve Olsher, What Is Your What?

The Power Is In The Decision You Make Now.

“Though you can learn from the past, it’s largely irrelevant.

In every current moment, you have the power to choose what to do.”

– Steve Olsher, What Is Your What?

What Are You Looking At?

To focus on your frustration is to prohibit your potential. Nothing destroys your future more than any resource you spend on the past.

Who Am I?

Couldn’t have said it better!!!

Prepared

LIfe needs to be like this. All systems checked. All systems ready. All systems go. All systems ready to go when called upon in the future. The danger comes in not being ready; not being prepared. Not learning, not growing, not going through the recommended maintenance and repair/restoration moments, means missing out whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Overthink

You’ll be amazed at what transpires when you realize that what is considered simple is often full of hard work, albeit worthwhile, while the complicated is relatively easy, provided you handle it with the right attitude and systematic approach.

The Influence Of Nothing

“Those who do not do good commonly do hurt by the influence of their bad example; they grieve and discourage those that are good; they harden and encourage those that are bad.”  – Matthew Henry commentary on Luke 13: 6-9

12 Reasons Why It’s Impossible For Us All To Get Along.

1) Nobody believes anyone when they say “It’s the truth.”

2) The few still capable of telling the truth must have ulterior motives.

3) We push everyone to be more educated, so that when there’s a disagreement, we can’t chalk it up to their still being “uneducated”.

4) When we run out of intellectual arguments we point out a character flaw, either real or perceived. (ie. racists)

5) We don’t listen to peoples reasoning…I’m too good to hear it or I don’t care anymore is the projected attitude.

6) Everyone has the right to speak their mind until someone trumps it with “Well, I’m offended…”

7) We let our offense take over the conversation, thus never resolving the issue…which probably wasn’t much of an issue anyway.

8) We don’t like dealing with real issues…we’d rather deal with the surface annoyances

9) Nobody admits to having real issues… those are for people who don’t have their act together.

10) We forget that at one time or another, none of us had our act together.

11) It’s more fun behaving like a child…who wants to be an adult

12) Adults forget that they can still be very wrong, but don’t you dare point it out.

I’ll get offended and then you won’t like me because I look different than you and have a different lifestyle…and well, working through our differences is just too much work, so you just stay over there and I’ll stay over here and we can be bitter for however long we feel like it.

No wonder we have a society where everyone is scratching their heads, saying the famous last words of Bill Cosby’s mother….

“Oh Lord, what happened in here?!!”

What’s With All The “Selfies”?

What you need to know every day are the same things I need to remind myself of every day.

1) It’s not about me.

2) It’s never been about me.

3) It never will be bout me.

4) It’s never about money.

5) It’s never been about money.

6) It never will be about money.

7) Stuff…Never. Never been. Never will be

8) Career. Never. Never been. Never will be.

9) Education. Never. Never been. Never will be.

10) Political Clout. Never. Never been. Never will be.

11) Social-economic Status (or that of Facebook, Google+, LinkedIN, Twitter, Pinterest, etc) Not happening.

12) Looks. You might think so and others might agree, but no. Never been. Won’t last.

The only picture of your “self” that people care about is your heart.

More importantly, your heart is the only picture of yourself that God cares about.

If we all need to be a “level playing field” then the only difference that matters is the condition of your heart.

For out of your heart…comes EVERYTHING. But only that which is ETERNAL will last.

Frustrating Contentment

The problem is not that we are frustrated by our circumstances or our place in life (physical, financial, social, spiritual or otherwise)…this is a natural element of humanity. However, when your frustration stands in the way of giving your frustration to God and trusting Him to work out the circumstances, then you will remain frustrated and not find contentment. It worth letting go of the frustration and enjoy the wait…just don’t be surprised, nor let it linger, when the frustration tries to re-stake its’ claim.
